Timber frame home

Timber frame houses are a non-standard method of house construction that quite literally, have timber frames instead of bricks or masonry. However, timber frame houses should not be underestimated, as they are just as solid, strong and durable as any traditional brick house.

The style of timber frame houses can be varied from traditional classic to modern, just as the building type itself can be a summer house, residential, detached house, or an apartment building.

As with all methods of non-standard construction, timber frame houses often comes with a whole host of questions concerning their construction, reliability and durability.

Prefabricated
Pre-Cut timber frame

Prefabricated or pre-cut timber frame?

differences & similarities

Our prefabricated panel & pre-cut timber frame houses are made from same timber frame, same quality materials and same technology is used and similar skills required to achieve high built quality.

But on the other hand the main differences are more noticeable. They can be described as the time spent on the complete finishing of the house, the amount of specific tools required, the need for heavy machinery, the possibility of changing the project, the influence of the weather on construction site.

Prefabricated panel houses are partially or completely manufactured in a factory. The elements of the house are manufactured and delivered to the construction site, where they are assembled to form the final structure. Assembly of the house depends on its complexity, a typical one-story house is assembled in a few days.

This is significantly faster compared to pre-cut timber frame construction, taking into account the fact that the elements are already fully or partially finished both externally and internally and with already installed doors and windows.

The facade of our timber frame houses is made ventilated, which extends the durability of the facade.

Its finish can be various, such as wooden paneling, plastered facade, slate finish, fiber-cement panels or paneling… There are no limits to improvisations.

The assembly of a panel frame house requires heavy machinery and additional equipment for high quality work. Meanwhile, a pre-cut frame house, depending on the house project, can be assembled without or with less help of heavy machinery and with fewer required tools.

It happens that during the construction of the house, sometimes there are places that you want to improve or change. When building a prefabricated house, it is quite difficult to make changes, but it is possible. Although the costs can be high, because the house is as much as possible finished in a factory. This means that part of the materials may be damaged in order to make certain changes. Meanwhile, in the pre-cut timber frame structure, the timber frame of the house is assembled, then it is processed according to the technologies from the outside and later inside, until this is not done, changes can be made with very minimal or almost no damage to the materials.

Weather conditions have a certain influence on both options, but it is significantly less harmful to prtefabricated houses, because they are already finished from the outside with protective materials against weather exposure and the process of assembly is significantly faster.
